The director would like to see REAL feelings and people who are willing to show genuine understated emotion.
Take your time with your line, let the words sit, don’t feel the need to stick to the lines themselves feel free to impro around it. And have natural beats and breaks as you perform the line.

Sick Child - Boy:
Quick intro and then a moment in bed with a bittersweet smile.
Mum:
“Cancer makes me exhausted. It’s all I can think about. I’ve lost contact with people. I’ve lost weight. The bills are piling up. But I have to put on a brave face.”
Dad:
“Cancer has put my life on hold. I’ve got headaches constantly. I’ve had to reduce my work hours. And the expenses just keep piling up. But I feel like I have to hold it together for my family.”
Sibling:
“Cancer is like a big, mean monster. I get taken out of school. I miss my parents. People try to explain things to me but I don’t understand. Mummy tells me to be brave ... but I’m scared.”
Grandfather :
“Cancer is a rollercoaster ride. I’m hopeful one day, and anxious the next. Every radiation treatment leaves me exhausted. I don’t even know what’s going on half the time. My world has just fallen apart.”
