First Nations Initiative 2025 - Application

The Casting Guild of Australia (CGA) and Showcast are launching a National Initiative (free) to celebrate and amplify the voices of First Nations actors across Australia.  It is open to actors of all experience levels —amateur, professional, new and emerging actors. We are looking for the next new “star” - young or old! It's free to join - there is nothing to pay! How to Participate: - Please read the instructions carefully. You will need to fill in the questions and upload 3 things. Start by clicking on the green link "Upload Self Test" 1) Your audition: Record a 2– 4 minute monologue or scene of your choice or you can select from provided scenes available through this link. Ensure the lens/your camera phone is held correctly. It must be: - Steady, and in the horizontal landscape position - The camera lens should be about the same level as your face. Please shoot your audition in a close up (mid body/head and shoulders) so we can see your face. Good lighting and good sound please - On the ‘facing up’ position (not upside down) 2) We’d love to hear more about yourself, so a small chat to the camera recorded separately (30 - 60 seconds in length) 3) Please upload a recent photo of yourself All submissions must be received by 19th December 2025 A panel consisting of CGA, Showcast, actor Rob Collins, and Bunya Productions’ Greer Simpkin will review all auditions. The top 20 performers will receive: - 12 Months Free Showcast Membership: Valued at $250 This membership will ensure you are regularly seen by Australia's leading casting directors (who select performers for film and television) - Representation Opportunities: Assistance in connecting with professional acting agents for ongoing representation - Industry Exposure: Your auditions will be accessible and sharable to Casting Directors across Australia for future Film, TV and theatre projects This Initiative aims to provide a platform for First Nations actors to showcase their talents, heritage, and contemporary experiences through the performing arts.
