Diversity Showcase 2021 - Open Casting Call

The Diversity Showcase has announced an open casting call for auditions (available to both members and non-members of Equity/MEAA). All performers are encouraged to submit an entry to the open casting call, judges will be taking all auditions into consideration for all the roles available in the Diversity Showcase. Please note that once the shortlisting has been conducted shortlisted applicants will be required to resubmit for a specific role/s containing a self-tape with a designated Showcase script. All applicants will submit a two-hander of their choice, no longer than three minutes, including a chat to camera. Please pick a two-hander script of approximately two – three pages that you are most comfortable with. Please note shortlisted applicants will be required to resubmit using a designated Diversity Showcase script pertinent to a specific role. Tell us why you are applying to be a part of the Diversity Showcase (thirty seconds) • Audition, two-hander of your choice, approximately three minutes • Please do not wear clothes with logos • Please make sure your entire test is no longer than five minutes • Please make sure the camera phone is held correctly: horizontally with the camera facing up and not upside down • Please make sure you or your agent watch the footage back for sound and picture quality and that its working correctly, before uploading to Showcast

Synopsis:
The 2021 Screen Diversity Showcase will comprise of 5 distinct, peer-reviewed projects - all to be developed as part of the program in the form of a five minute proof of concept. Whilst the projects in their intended forms will have a larger ensemble of characters, these proof of concepts are restricted to containing 2 - 3 characters. The role descriptions will give you an idea of the creator's vision for the casting. Please feel free to audition for any of the roles, even if you don't perfectly fit the description. We would encourage all disabled artists, First Nations and POC artists and members of the LGBTQI+ community to audition.
