Kate Elder is a UK-born and bred, but longtime Western Australia-based actress, known for her enthusiasm and dedication to screen and theatre performances across both dramatic and comedic roles. Her naturally curious nature and commitment to delivering truthful work has seen her deliver a range of leading and supporting roles across film, commercial and theatre productions. For the short film "Resistance", she received both a Best Actress nomination and award for her portrayal of a Captain challenged by an alien incursion. Kate also earned the Best Actress award for her role as Lady M in the 2021 "Short & Sweet Festival." Kate is a founding and ongoing member of the Perth Actors Centre Advanced Studio and undertakes ongoing workshop and study opportunities to continually improve her craft. Her home VO studio set up includes a RODE NT1-A microphone, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Gen 3 interface and Audacity audio software. Kate's natural accent is neutral English, but she can also deliver a range of UK regional accents. Recent roles have required Kate to perform in French, Russian, Southern Irish, Boston, Australian, Scottish and RP accents, and she is always keen to tackle and refine a new accent. Due to also having a career in media and marketing for over 25 years, Kate is very familiar with the pace and diversity of creative production environments. Kate holds UK and Australian passports and is based in Perth, Western Australia.
