Kura Forrester

Kura Forrester (Ngāti Porou) is an actor, writer and comedian from Wellington, New Zealand. "Arguably one of the most talented people in New Zealand's comedy scene" (The Spinoff), her credits include a slew of iconic Kiwi comedy films such as THE BREAKER UPPERERS and BABY DONE, and upcoming independent feature WORKMATES. She stars in comedy series DOUBLE PARKED, for which she also contributes as a writer, and is a recurring guest in Three's MADAM alongside Rachel Griffiths. As a personality, Kura also regularly makes appearances on shows such as TASKMASTER, SEVEN DAYS and GUY MONTGOMERY'S SPELLING BEE. She is the recipient of the 2019 Billy T Award for her debut stand up show KURA SHOULDA WOULDA, and many will recognize her as the beloved ‘Desdemona Schmidt', a multi-year core cast role on SHORTLAND STREET. Kura trained at Unitec in Auckland, and the legendary École Philippe Gaulier in Paris. When she is not acting or being hilarious, Kura is spending time with her very cute puppy, Tui.
