When I’m not on set or on a stage I perform with my music comedy duo ‘Sparrow-Folk’. Very playful ,easy-going and fun to have on set. With my Impro Skills I’m capable of stepping away from the script if needed. Always interested in new projects and supportive of wild ideas. Throw me into anything.
Theatrical Works: Cathy has worked professionally with various theatres around Canberra as a director, producer and performer. From 2007-2013 she co-directed Improvised theatre company ImproACT. From 2013 she has created highly successful Improvised works ‘Pirates’, ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘The Home-Front’ – an ACT Arts Grant recipient which has seen the worked toured through regional NSW and to the Adelaide Fringe Festival. In her scripted work, her performance roles include ‘Yana’ for the premiere of Helen Machalias’ new work In Loco Parentis, Yerma in the play of the same name by Frederico Garcia Lorca, and in Greg Lissaman’s children’s play ‘Rolling Home’ where she played Georgio. She has toured nationally with some of these works and represented Canberra at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her music comedy duo, Sparrow-Folk. In collaboration with the Street Theatre Cathy has been a regular actor for their dramaturgy program of new Canberra works and has worked with The Ensemble Theatre on Melanie Tait’s work ‘The Appleton Ladies Potato Race’. In 2013 and 2014 Cathy received directing and performance awards for her work with Short and Sweet. When she is not touring with Sparrow-Folk Cathy works as an actor doing role-playing gigs with the ANU Medical and more recently for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Television: Cathy has worked professionally on various TVC’s for the following companies; ASIO, Canberra Laser Eye surgery, Newcastle based law firm Bale Boshev, Spicers Retreat in the Hunter Valley and more recently Amaysim. She has featured in all of Sparrow-Folk’s music film-clips and was the female lead in the short film ‘The Jingle Man’
