Notes
Virginia first found her love of performing through music. Training in classical piano and voice from the age of three and performing in and touring internationally with professional choirs Gondwana National Choir (as part of both the Voices and Chorale choirs) and Young Adelaide Voices (as part of both the First Concert Choir and Aurora Vocal Ensemble) throughout her teenage years meant that she was no stranger to the stage, even before discovering her passion for acting.
In 2016 she was selected to perform as part of the Class of Cabaret in the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Throughout the process she was mentored by industry giants, such as Eddie Perfect and Ali McGregor, and it was this experience that truly ignited her love of acting.
Before Virginia’s admission to Drama Centre, she participated in several professional productions as a vocalist and an actor – most notably The Moon is a Balloon by Patch Theatre in 2016, Emil and the Detectives by Slingsby (dir. Andy Packer) in 2017, and in Memorial by Brink Productions (dir. Chris Drummond) as part of the Aurora Vocal Ensemble in 2018.
During her time at Drama Centre, Virginia had the opportunity to perform in a large variety of roles, including Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (dir. Tom Healey), Wendla in Spring Awakening (dir. by Anthony Nicola), Young Anna and Nurse in Anatomy of a Suicide (dir. David Mealor), Hamlet in Hamlet (dir. by Elena Carapetis), Anfisa and Ferapont in Three Sisters (dir. by James Wardlaw), Margaret, Patricia, Lisa-Scott and Sharon in Incognito (dir. by Anthony Nicola), and several characters including Aase and Priest in Peer Gynt (dir. Nescha Jelk).
Since graduation, Virginia has had the pleasure of working with several major independent theatre companies, including The Cram Collective, Deus Ex Femina, and Famous Last Words Theatre, on numerous professional productions and developments. She's also had the opportunity to work with many amazing creatives in the film industry, both as an actor and as a director. In 2025, she released her debut film as a screenwriter and director, titled Dragging the Chain.
