Notes

Sarah Bowers is a theatre-maker, performer, director, educator and qualified primary teacher working between Melbourne and Perth. A WAAPA Music Theatre graduate who completed a Graduate Diploma of Primary Education in Western Australia, she is passionate about directing and creating original work that celebrates connection, joy and queer storytelling. Her original works include the Green Room Award-nominated cabaret Sarahtonin and the Adelaide Fringe award-winning children's musical Tiny Doctors. Sarah is also a recipient of the Billilla Artist Residency with Bayside City Council. This year, she is the composer and music director for Not Sooo Fresh with Frenzy Theatre Co., is developing Love Letters, a new queer folk musical inspired by the diaries and letters of Anne Lister, and will be pitching Tiny Doctors at WA Showcase as part of its regional touring journey. Alongside her creative practice, Sarah has spent the past four years delivering regional theatre workshops in partnership with WAAPA and the City of Busselton, completed a marketing mentorship with CircuitWest, and continues to develop and tour new work across Western Australia and Victoria.
