Samuel Barbas is an Australian-based actor, director, and writer. He is best known for his work in the film “A Few Less Men”; TV series "The Heights”, and the development of the Australian feature film “Natalie Was A Friend Of Mine”.
His recent training has been with director Kim Farrant (Stranger Land, The Weekend Away), Acting Coach- Les Chandry and Ben Matthews. During his studies he was taught by Australian director’s Amanda Crewes and Ross McGregor (Neighbours, AFTRS, NIDA) in theatre, screen and performance making. His studies focused on Shakespeare (Patsy Rodenburg), Improvisation (Tegan Mulvany), Mask Work (Ellis Pearson), and Verbatim Theatre .
Praise for Samuel’s previous roles cite him as a “vulnerable”, “eccentric” and “raw” performer who has the ability to “authentically bring himself to everything he does.”
Born in Perth Western Australia to Greek parents, he was raised on films and DVD specials, loving all things screen. He has a deep, spiritual connection to the mystic and interests in health, psychology, technology, martial arts and soccer.
In 2024, was a runner up for Atlantic Acting School Scholarship.
In 2021, was a finalist for Equity’s Home and Away Graduate Internship by Mullinars Casting.
In 2023, was named a finalist for the Carmen Duncan Scholarship by AAFTA
