Regan Taylor (Ngati Kahungunu) brings a fresh presence that draws on a decade and a half of widely varied experience as actor, dancer, director, and teacher. An award winning graduate of The UCOL Theatre School, Regan has strong experience in Devised and Physical Theatre, his theatre piece created for the Matariki festival 2014 “Hoki Mai Tama Ma” a Maori mask show achieved great acclaim and enjoyed repeat seasons.. He has been a lecturer for the creative process paper at Massey University Palmerston North delivering lectures on creating and sustaining character, and devising for the stage. Regan is a current co-director of Auckland’s newest Maori Theatre Company “Te Rēhia” whose aim is to make Maori inspired theatre and to take it across New Zealand and beyond. In 2013 Regan was nominated for Best New Director in the Chapman Tripp Awards for his direction of ‘Manawa’ that played in Wellington, Auckland and the Hawkes Bay.
