Whilst living in London, Petrie was involved in a theatre company called BitterSuite which worked with DeafBlind children and young adults to create multi-sensory immersive theatre.
Over the past decade, Petrie has been actively involved in an award-winning community Shakespeare company in the Byron Bay hinterland. She has performed and directed plays such as Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night’s Dream and delivers language and text workshops for fellow actors.
Petrie has appeared in theatre, radio, film and television productions both in Australia and abroad. She has performed at the Soho Theatre in London under the direction of Vicky Jones & Phoebe Waller-Bridge and for the Short & Sweet festival at Sydney’s New Theatre in Newtown and again at The Factory in Marrickville.
She is currently working in Sydney as a wig stylist for Disney and the Sydney Theatre Company in between acting jobs such as Deadly Women for TV.
