Samantha is a multi award-winning Comedian, Writer, Performer, and Online Content Creator. In 2018 Samantha debuted her cabaret ‘Baby Bi Bi Bi’ which toured nationally to sold out audiences across Australia including at Adelaide Fringe Festival, Bondi Festival, Gaytimes and the Melt Festival in Brisbane. It was this show that won her ‘The People's Choice Award’, a ‘Best Cabaret’ Nomination and a ‘Midsumma Development’ award at Melbourne Fringe in 2018. In 2019, Samantha won a prestigious ‘Green Room Award’ for ‘Best Ensemble’ alongside Erin and Bel for their work in ‘Baby Bi Bi Bi’. In 2020 Samantha made waves on TikTok for her original comedy sketches. Her account has earned her a loyal following of +280,000 followers, over 13 million likes and has seen her interviewed by SBS, featured on Sunrise, Studio Ten and The Project. Samantha has been named a “superior creator” by Tanya Hennessy, “a hilarious treasure trove of Aussie nostalgia” by Punkee and was named one of the “Top 10 comedian influencers on TikTok in 2020” by the Analytical TikTok Database ‘In Beat’. In 2021 Samantha was honoured to be nominated for a prestigious AACTA Award’ for ‘Best Short Form Comedy’ for her work on TikTok and also attended the ‘AIMCO Industry Awards’ in Sydney where she was a nominee for ‘Best Creator on TikTok’. Through her content creation she has worked in collaboration with brands including Spotify, Pedestrian TV, Bonds, Netflix US and recently starred as herself in Contiki’s new travel video which was shot in Italy. Often speaking at industry panel events, she is one of the most in demand content creators for brands currently working in Australia. Her recent screen credits include: Stella in the TikTok series ‘Cool Mum’ (Not a Phase Productions) ‘Sam’ in ‘Self Care’ (SLAG Productions), Kiera in ‘I’m Dying Inside’ (Finch Productions) and recently collaborated with Aunty Donna on ‘The Most F**ked Guessing Game’. Samantha also works as one half of multi-award winning comedy duo Mel & Sam. Herself and her partner Mel O’Brien have a Spotify original podcast which climbed to No.2 in the comedy charts and 4th overall in Australia. The pair have three shows now under their belt; “No Hat, No Play! The Cabaret’, ‘Shit-Wrecked!’, ‘High Pony’ and ‘The Platonic Human Centipede’ which have toured to sold out seasons across Australia. These shows have earned them the Green Room Award for ‘Best Original Songs’ (Shit-Wrecked! 2022), ‘Best Cabaret’ (‘No Hat, No Play!’ at Adelaide Fringe 2022) and coined them ‘The Future of Australian Comedy’ - Herald Sun, ‘a parody pop duo in the making’ - The Age, ‘Solid Gold’ - Chortle UK and ‘The Making of Comedy Greats’ - Theatre Thoughts. Samantha was recently selected for APRA’s first Musical Theatre Song Hubs where she collaborated with a select number of musical theatre composers from Australia, and was paired up to write a song with Tony nominee Eddie Perfect and has just starred as the lead and additional writer in Peach PRC’s recent short film ‘Manic Dream Pixie’ (Good Oil Productions). As a proud queer woman, Samantha is passionate about creating art which is queer focussed, and female lead.
