Coll Burns is an Australian actor with a strong interest in theatre, literature, film making and music production. Working in a broad range of genres while attending acting classes for over a decade at Point Break Drama School in Sydney, he was drawn to both comedy and improvisation, finely honing his comedic timing, and winning numerous ‘best on stage’ awards in the process. Coll’s primary passion however, was ignited by the formation of the Point Break Drama Theatre Company and their main production focus, Shakespeare. He has performed in numerous Shakespeare productions playing both comedic and tragic characters. In other works, he has performed lead roles as less savoury characters in Lord of the Flies and Away and most recently Mr. Darcy. In his time at Point Break Drama School, as a HSC drama student, and as a theatre major at University of Sydney, Coll has trained in a broad range of styles from Stanislavski and Grotowsky through to Brecht and Commedia dell’arte. In addition to his stage work, Coll has written, directed, scored and acted in short film, done podcast voice work, performed as roles of stage manager, dramaturg, assistant director, co-director and soon to be co-producer for an upcoming production of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.
