Liz Vassilacos is a Greek-Australian actor and writer working across theatre and film. Classically trained and skilled in both contemporary and Shakespearean text, she brings intelligence, expressiveness, and dynamic comic timing to her work. Her recent theatre work includes leading roles in Much Ado About Nothing, This Restless House and The Appleton Ladies’ Potato Race, with screen credits in supporting roles for feature films "Mothers, Lovers and Others" (AACTA Award contender) and "The Holy Scoundrel". A NIDA Open Actors Studio participant, Liz has also trained in Gaulier clown and improvisation, with additional experience in stage combat and weapons handling. She is proficient in Standard American, Southern American and English RP accents, and speaks Greek at an intermediate level. In 2025, she wrote, produced and starred in the original theatrical work "The Understudies", which won the Sydney Fringe Guest Award and received multiple nominations at Newcastle Fringe and CONDA Awards, reflecting her growing practice as a theatre-maker as well as performer. This show went on to tour Australia throughout 2026.
