Notes

Kayla is an American actress based in Melbourne. After graduating from Syracuse University with a BFA in Musical Theatre performance, she lived and worked in NYC for three and a half years before moving to New Zealand. She has had the opportunity to play Lady In Orange in For Colored Girls (Syracuse University), Hester Pryne in an adaption of the Scarlet Letter (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), as well as originate the role of Yvette in the World Premiere production of In The Upper Room (Denver Center). Kayla works to bring her own identity as a black, queer woman to any role she plays. Through exploring the nuances of her identity, she is able to bring new depth to each character she takes on.
