Notes

Carla Te Paa is an Actor and Musical theatre performer originally from Aotearoa New Zealand. In 2022 she moved across the ditch to study Musical theatre at the National Institute of Dramatic Art where she was trained by leaders in the industry such as Phillip Quast, Anne-Maree McDonald, Daniel Dolling, Garth Holcombe and Troy Honeysett. She has performed in a variety of musical theatre shows, playing characters such as Betty Rizzo (Grease), Bet (Oliver!) and had the pleasure of rehearsing the role of Elphaba (alternate/swing) and ensemble in the North Shore Musical theatre production of 'WICKED', which unfortunately never came to fruition due to a Covid-19 lockdown. Carla is indigenous to New Zealand, and comes from a Maori heritage. In 2020, Carla joined an ensemble in a professional workshop of a new show called 'Pacifica'. The show explored themes of love, loss, family and traditions through a pacific islander cultural lens. Carla has previously trained in acting with Juliet Furness, Singing with Verity Burgess, and taken part in vocal workshops with Hayden Tee. She has 10+ years of dance experience specifically in Modern Jazz, Contemporary, Hip hop and a single year of tap through her training at NIDA
