Jeffrey Liu is a magnetic multi-disciplinary performing artist. WAAPA-trained, he champions the queer Chinese-Australian experience through his pop artist project JËVA, bringing a bold and charismatic presence to both stage and studio. Since releasing his debut pop EP Typhoon in 2021, JËVA has independently amassed over 100,000 Spotify streams, sold out a headline show at The Vanguard Sydney, and performed to thousands at Mardi Gras Fair Day 2022 and World Pride 2023, garnering support on air from Triple J and BBC Radio 1. Jeffrey was scouted for his acting debut as Kim Han (a K-Pop star) in Ra Chapman’s K-Box (Malthouse Theatre), earning praise for a breakout performance that launched his stage career. He went on to appear in The Lucky Country (Hayes Theatre Co) before touring nationally with Michelle Law’s Miss Peony (Belvoir St Theatre). Alongside his theatre work, Jeffrey is an established voiceover artist, having lent his voice to national commercial campaigns. He will return to The Lucky Country in 2025 for the national tour whilst working on his forthcoming EP Teenage 20’s due for release early next year.
