Janine McGrath is a tall, mature, Australian actor with classical dance training who brings a warm, intelligent authority, blended with a hint of eccentricity to her roles in film, TV & theatre. Based in Naarm/Melbourne, Janine is a former dance boss & educator…married…4 grandkids…Francophile…Swans supporter. Janine has featured in numerous short and feature films, vertical series, theatre, play readings and commercials. As Janine Winters, she helmed two seasons of 'Evenings With Janine', which was nominated for two Antenna Awards in 2025. Janine was awarded 'Best Actress' at the Cracked Actors' 2023 Summer Readings and was a finalist for 'Best Supporting Actress' in 2022 & 'Best Actress' in 2021. In the 1980s Janine juggled careers as both a Primary School Teacher and Private Studio Dance Teacher. "I found myself choreographing a new Jazz syllabus, then becoming President of Southern Federation of Dance, which led to work as a choreographer, dance examiner, producer, MC, adjudicator, teacher-trainer and mentor." She also created an original program for Pre-schooler Dance. On both international and national stages, and arena shows she's worked as a choreographer and dance consultant. Riverdance (1998), Cavalcade - Reins of Fire (2005), Madiba The Musical (2018 & 2019), and Fast Love - a Tribute to George Michael (2018 & 2019). In 2001 & 2002 Janine lectured in Dance & Drama at Victoria University in the School of Human Movement, Recreation & Performance. Her passion for storytelling as an actor was reignited after three decades of running successful dance schools. With extensive experience in dance performance, education, and stage production Janine brings an array of professional skills to her projects. Janine has a full Driver's Licence, Passport and Working With Children Check and has studied anatomy & CPR.
