Notes

------------------------ Bio ------------------------ Daniel is a Naarm/Melbourne-based director, performer, and award-winning vocal arranger. Eclectically trained, recent directing credits include: a director of the "24-Hour Theatre" production of "High School Musical on Stage!" (Lightbox Productions); co-director and MD of "Carrie: The Musical" (Out of the Wings); vocal director of the Australian premiere of "Eurobeat: Moldova" (PEP Productions); and co-director and MD of the new Australian musical “Blue to the Horizon” (Sevenfold Theatre), which was nominated by the Green Room Awards for Best Direction in Independent/Fringe Musical Theatre. Recent performing credits include: Therapist/Clarinettist in the surrealist Australian Gothic play "The Roof is Caving in" (Frenzy Theatre Co); a troupe member of Impromptunes, Australia’s leading improvised musical comedy troupe, performing at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival; a chorister in the Victorian premiere of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” (OSMaD); and Steven in the Australian premiere of Broadway’s first fully a cappella musical, “In Transit” (Lightbox Productions), harmoniously marrying his love of musical theatre and contemporary a cappella. An avid a cappella aficionado, and equipped with a decade of vocal harmony expertise, Daniel also currently directs and performs with nationally-acclaimed vocal band, Vocally Owned, and vocal ensemble, Harambee A Cappella, recently leading the latter to international victory, earning the title of the overall Category Winner of the Open Pop Ensemble Division at the 2024 World Choir Games. ------------------------ Awards and Nominations ------------------------ 2023 "Blue to the Horizon" (Sevenfold Theatre Company) - Best Direction - Musical Theatre (Independent/Fringe), Green Room Awards (Nomination) "In Transit" (Lightbox Productions) - Best Production - Musical, Lyrebird Awards (Nomination) - Production of the Year, Musical Theatre Guild of Victoria (Nomination) - Ensemble Performance, Musical Theatre Guild of Victoria (Nomination) 2021 Musical Mugwumps - Celebration of Online Performance, Green Room Awards (Nomination) 2020-2021 "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" (Cactus Musicals Inc.) - Award of Excellence, Musical Theatre Guild of Victoria 2015 "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" (Camberwell Grammarians' Theatre Company) - Best Ensemble (in a musical), Lyrebird Awards - Best Ensemble, Musical Theatre Guild of Victoria
