Inspired by her drama teacher, Cynthia Taylu first fell in love with acting when she participated in her school’s musical titled All Shook Up as a chorus member. When presented with the opportunity to study drama in grade 10 she took it, quickly becoming her favourite subject. “It wasn’t just a subject to me, but something that was fun, that I looked forward to. Drama to me was my family,’’ Taylu said. Cynthia Taylu was born on the 4th of September 1996 in Liberia and moved to Australia at the age of eight. Her first leading role was in the short film Yellow playing the role of Becky. Before finishing high school, Taylu opened Creative Generation States School’s on Stage 2012 in a short pre-recorded segment as a Puppet Master. She then trained with Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre, where she played the role of a sales women in the play 1000 Paper Cranes. After completing school, she began training with the likes of Nida Open (Screen Acting Essentials), Warehouse Workshop and Peter Rasmusen. On a trip to New York City, she studied Acting Techniques at Talent Ventures, Inc. (TVI) for a month, where she was taught by Jeanine Bartel. In her final week in NYC, she did a workshop with casting director Sussane Scheel at TVI. Her family has always been her biggest inspiration, telling her the sky is the limit and with that she has continued working towards her dreams.
