Notes

Chi was born and raised in Vietnam and moved to Australia on her own when she was sixteen to pursue the performing arts. Chi is a graduate of The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) where she received the Grace Marion Wilson Scholarship for Excellence in Acting. Chi’s most recent TV credits are recurring roles Megan Vu in Amazon Prime’s original series Class of ’07, Jeanette Dao in Amazon Prime’s 2023 original series The Wilds, and Juliana in ABC/Netflix’s FISK in which Chi performed and co-wrote two episodes with Kitty Flanagan. She also starred in the first ever Vietnamese-Australian comedy web series Phi and Me – released worldwide in June 2019, played Au Pair in Victoria Thane’s web series Sonia and Cherry and Tanya in Jessica Smith’s web series VIDEOLAND. In 2022, Chi’s performance as Mum/Amber in Melbourne Theatre Company’s LAURINDA (dir. Petra Kalive) was nominated for Outstanding Performance by the Green Room Awards. In 2019, Chi wrote and performed a season of her debut solo comedy cabaret LOTUS (Nominated Best Cabaret at Melbourne Fringe 2019), all about her life as a Vietnamese immigrant in Australia which was developed through her Artist Residency with City of Melbourne’s SIGNAL. Other theatrical credits include Tam in The Shift Theatre’s Hallowed Ground: Women Doctors In War (toured with Regional Arts Victoria and internationally to Edinburgh Fringe 2019), River in Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre FAST FOOD (dir. Bridget Balodis), Lead Player in Arena Theatre Company’s AIR RACE (dir. Christian Leavesley) and Mother Courage in VCA’s Mother Courage and Her Children (dir. Chris Kohn). As a writer, Chi co-created an original play set in Hanoi with writer Dan Lee called FLAKE, which had its premiere season at Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre in 2023 and was published by Currency Press. Chi is currently developing a new bilingual musical comedy series Miss Saigon-Wrong, which has been receiving support from Creative Victoria, City of Melbourne’s SIGNAL Young Creatives Lab and Brimbank Council’s Be Bold Residency. Prior to coming to Australia, Chi undertook Acting for Camera Intensive with Aaron Toronto, Acting for Stage Intensive with Meritorious Vietnamese Artist Ngoc Hiep, and MC/TV Host Intensive with Michael Castengera at Saigon International Film School. Chi is furthermore an accomplished contemporary singer, pianist and the Winner of the LAVISA Music Feast singing competition 2015.
