Notes

Disabled Artist (Palsy, limb difference, neurodiverse). Know Rudimentary Auslan. (Northern dialect). Cert 2 Auslan Currently studying Cert 3. Auslan. Bedelia is a groovy, disabled actor, dancer, singer, and theatre-maker from Western Sydney. Previously mentored by film and theatre director and dramaturg, Anthea Williams, and currently mentored by performance and artistic director, Felicity Nicol, Bedelia is fine-tuning her expertise in film and theatre as a disabled, queer woman. She is the Biennial Artist in Residence at PYT Fairfield, and recipient of the Bundanon Trust Artist in Residence Program, supported by Accessible Arts and Mable. Bedelia has and is undertaking multi-disciplinary training, from film and fight choreography teachings with Maria Tran, Jasper Bagg, and Bina Bhattacharya, to dance with Sarah Vyne-Vassallo, Dance Makers Collective, DirtyFeet, and Form Dance Projects, to singing and voice with The House That Dan Built, ARIA award-winning musician, Sally Whitwell and CEO, Danielle O’Keefe. Bedelia Lowrencev has also co-created a major emerging work called ‘Collision’ with her deaf, twin brother, with anticipated touring in 2023 due to interest and demand already from major festivals and venues, including Midsummer and Arts Centre Melbourne. It explores the intersection of queerness, disability, and deafness, and is proudly supported by Arts Centre Melbourne, Australian Arts Council, Accessible Arts, ANZ and Sydney Mardi Gras, Candoco Dance Company, PYT Fairfield, and The Joan.
