Notes

2021 - two Ruby Award Nominations for Euphoria (Best Work Outside a Festival and Best Regional Event), with one Special Commendation awarded 2021 - Listed amongst Adelaide's Best Female Lead Performances for Meg in Euphoria 2019 - Adelaide's Top 5 Best Supporting Female Performances for #7 in The Wolves 2016 - Adelaide's Top 5 Best Lead Performances for Harriet in Rumpelstitlskin 2015 - Minter Ellison Fringe and Beyond Award for McNirt Hates Dirt 2010 - Helpmann Academy's Ashington Mentorship with Amber McMahon 2009 - Malcolm Fox Drama Prize and University Medal for Excellence in Drama From 2012-2020, Ashton performed as a Captain Starlight at the Starlight Children's Foundation. This involved using clowning, physical theatre, music, visual art, improvisation and TV presenting skills to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families, within the hospital environment and in remote First Nations communities. Ashton frequently collaborates with theatre designer Meg Wilson and performer and devisor Josephine Fitzgerald. Their work is often made for unconventional spaces and pushes up against definitions of theatre, performance and visual art. Their most recent work, SQUASH! won the 2019 Green Room Award for Innovation in Durational Performance. Ashton was a founding member of Adelaide’s only artist-led theatre space, RUMPUS- a community of professional theatre practitioners dedicated to creating theatre that is accessible, affordable and reflects the diversity of our world. She served for two years as the Fundraising Coordinator.
