Alexander “Zan” Kermond - is a fifth generation Performer. Zan has been dancing since he learned to walk and as a child performed in many productions across theatre and television. At age 8 he played the role of young Cosmo Brown in the award wining dancer/ choreographer David Atkins smash hit musical Singin’ In The Rain across Australia and in Asia. A talented and dedicated tap dancer, Zan’s childhood dream of becoming a Tap Dog came to life in 2010 when he was offered a spot in the hotly contested Dein Perry’s Tap Dogs that culminated in a performance at the Daly M Awards and the privilege of performing at Virgin Blue Airlines 10th Birthday celebrations for entrepreneur Richard Branson. In 2011, Zan commenced a 2-year full time Performing Arts Diploma at ED5 International Performing Arts School and appeared in the worldwide blockbuster feature film, Happy Feet 2 (Director George Miller). Before the completion of his studies at ED5, Zan received the opportunity of a lifetime, to play one of the seven brothers in the feel good hit musical Hot Shoe Shuffle and to once again perform with the legendary David Atkins. After a successful season of Hot Shoe Shuffle, Zan was privileged to be asked to work alongside his dad Wayne Scott Kermond in the hit show CandyMan where Zan was a featured numerously throughout the show for his crowd pleasing talents. Zan Furthermore performed at the world renowned Adelaide Cabaret Festival under the direction of Wayne Harrison AM alongside his Father and Grandpa where they performed a one of a kind cabaret show having 3 generations onstage together, they received rave reviews. The Kermond's continued onto cruising for the Royal Caribbean on their Bravo cruise of the performing arts. Here Zan had the opportunity to perform alongside such names as Elaine Paige, Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Marina Prior to name a few. Zan was lucky enough to be recognised for his recent performances with The Kermond’s as he was nominated and won a Mo Award for Best Variety Production show of the year. Zan has produced and directed his own show The Vaudevillians, Which made its world premier in the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Here it received multiple 5 star reviews, with the Adelaide Advertiser giving it 4 and half stars, saying “Alexander Kermond is the star, not only because he’s multi talented, but his ability to tell a story. His tribute to Charlie Chaplin sends goose bumps, in the best way”. Zan has been touring across Europe Appearing at Disneyland Paris in Mickey’s Christmas Big Band under the Direction of Christopher Horsey whilst also performing alongside Max Patterson forming their own successful act in Graz Austria for Toni Morwald’s Palazzo, and this year appearing on tour in Germany as an ensemble member of The Tap Pack.
