Zack McCracken is a New Zealand actor who abandoned her nursing career for the theatre after experiencing the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Trained at the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, she spent twenty years in the UK working in theatre and teaching improvisation, mask work, and devised theatre. She also worked extensively as a simulated patient, playing multiple roles for Cambridge University and UEA Schools of Medicine. After returning to New Zealand in 2003, she joined the Clown Doctors NZ Charitable Trust, performing regularly at Starship Hospital and later serving as Artistic Director, delivering nationwide training and professional development. She continues to work as a simulated patient and is now focusing primarily on film and television roles.
