Having begun dancing at the age of 3, Melissa (she/her) is a passionate, queer performer with a love for all things stage. She has trained in all styles of dance including ballet (ACB), pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, acro and musical theatre across several dance schools. She most recently appeared as Fastrada in Pippin, and as The Actor in The Lower Depths, both during her studies at Federation University Arts Academy. Melissa’s davourite theatre credits include Serena, Legally Blonde and Emily Brent, And Then There Were None.
Melissa achievements include Dance Captain 2022 of St Helena Secondary College, Juanita Coco Award Recipient (2022) and a Lyrebird nomination for best supporting actress (Emily Brent, And Then There Were None). She also directed her first play at 18; A Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (SHSC).
Melissa’s love for the stage also includes a passion for teaching and building the confidence and skills of her students, teaching many styles of dance and performance at Elevation Dance Co. and Ballarat Dance works since 2023. This has allowed her to express her creativity through choreography, a skill she hopes to continue throughout her career. She is currently training in a Bachelor of Musical Theatre and Acting at Federation University (class of 25')
