Growing up in a cemetery, with British/Indian and Australian Parents; Mikayla knew who she was from a very young age. She always had an audience to tell her jokes to and perform for. (although, they never really replied?).
Mikayla started performing arts when she was just 4 years old, beginning in a dance background that ended up growing into singing, musical theatre, acting, writing and stand-up comedy. During that time she did numerous dancing jobs, charity events, and competitions, becoming a 4-time National Grand champion dancer and choreographer, even going to America to compete in the USASF Dance World Championships, coming 4th for Australia. She admires Tina Fey, Bill Hader, the Wayans family and Robin Williams as her motivation and reasons as to why Acting, Musical Theatre and Comedy appealed to her. She also plays numerous sports, such as netball, hockey and volleyball and takes singing lessons at VOX singing academy.
Mikayla found her passion for acting, musical theatre and stand-up comedy at Acting Performance Studios in 2018, learning under Toby Derrick, Luke James and Jasper Bagg. After numerous short films and scene work, she began her Bachelor of Performing Arts at The Australian College of the Arts under the tutelage of Andrea Powell.
Mikayla graduates this year with a Bachelor of Performing Arts, she is currently working on writing for television and producing more stand-up comedy, while wanting to work within the industry as an actor.
Her most recent performances include the CollArts comedy revue called “The Assignment” and Performing Stand-Up Comedy at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Mikayla also does Stand-up comedy at Open Mic nights across Melbourne. She most recently filmed a short film called "Dinner Party" for SKEEMS.
