Nicky Whelan is a young lady fast making a name for herself in the Australian TV and Entertainment industry. The beginning of 2004 saw Nicky land her first regular television co-hosting job, with Network Seven’s ‘Coxy’s Big Break’ –a travel and lifestyle series for Melbourne. During the past 18 months Nicky has been on locationto numerous places within Australia. Following Nicky’s success with ‘Coxy’s Big Break’, Nicky is now also a regular co- host for Network Seven’s ‘Melbourne Woman’ –a new television program which provides a weekly wrap on Melbourne’s social scene. The program features a fashion segment (hosted by Nicky) as well as dating and healthy lifestyle tips. During 2004 Nicky played the part of Chrissie on Network Ten’s Telemovie, Russell Coight’s Celebrity Challenge. Nicky was also an on-air TV host in mid 2003 for the Nickelodeon Channel which ran daily for 2 weeks. Kids voted for their favourite host and Nicky was one of two winners chosen. Unfortunately other commitment prevented herfrom undertaking the role. Nicky is keen to move into acting, and 2003 saw her audition for various roles, whilst she simultaneously took acting and voice training classes. Nicky has been co-host of the Night Racing at Moonee Valley for five consecutive years. Through this role Nicky interviews celebrities and jockeys on-course. Nicky is also featured in the trophy presentation handovers. Nicky has also been a full-time fashion model for over five years. She has graced the covers of some of our best known fashion magazines, with herlatest being an edition of Inside Sport which featured Nicky in full page colourspreads. The last couple of years have seen Nicky model regularly on Sale of the Century, and conduct live feeds to nightclubs for Inside Sport. Nicky was announced as the 2004 Inside Sport Model of the Year. Nicky is regularly photographed for newspapers such as the Herald Sun and MX, proving Nicky’s profile is growing by the minute. A combination of intelligence, a down-to-earth attitude, obvious beauty and her fresh face guarantee Nicky makes an impact wherever she goes.
