Māui has acted in Theatre and Musical Theatre shows, films, TVCs and on Māori TV. He played Desmin in the American Production, ‘The Shannara Chronicles’. Māui also acted in the short film, 'The Ripple effect', by Maza White and got an 'honorable mention' award for his role in the festival, 'Top Shorts' in LA. In 2021, he also received the Shakespeare Trophy for 'Best Shakespeare Performer' at Takapuna Grammar, and in 2022 he received an 'Outstanding Performance - Male' award at the Junior Theatre Festival NZ. Māui has passed his Trinity Grade 8 acting exam with Distinction. He won the peninsular award for excellence in the arts in Takapuna Grammar School's prize giving, along with Best Comic Performance, Outstanding Performer In A Theatre Work, Leadership In Theatre Sports, and Standout Performance in a Musical. Māui also won the Stage Antics Kia U Ki Te Pai Award. In 2024, Māui received an All Stars award at the Atlanta Junior Theatre Festival in the USA. He has recently received a NAPTA Scholarship to support his upcoming showcase performance in New York with Broadway Dreams. Māui is also a youth associate at Auckland Theatre Company and part of the Massive Nui Ensemble.
