Notes

Nat Astwood is a multi-hyphenate creative force, blending performance, education, martial arts into a career that’s anything but ordinary. With a Bachelor of Arts in drama and acting from ECU and a postgraduate journey through Creative Industries (QUT) and Education (Griffith Uni), they’re currently completing an MFA at NIDA. Nat has shone on the runway, in community theatre, TV commercials, and short films, with standout performances like Coral in AWAY. Offstage, they’ve channeled their dynamic energy into teaching and running workshops, always with a flair for character and storytelling. A world champion martial artist and finalist for Gold Coast Sportswoman of the Year, Nat’s love of physical theatre is clear—recently winning silver at the World Martial Arts Championships for a performance at Sydney World Pride (2023). Between performing spoken word as a drag king, tapping into age and gender diversity on the runway, and serving as a Creative Coach, Nat is an enthusiastic Renaissance artist, forever exploring new dimensions of creativity.
