James Rock is an Australian actor based in Western Australia, known for his work across television, film and commercial productions.
James’ passion for acting began during his school years after moving from Melbourne to Perth. In Year 9, he was encouraged by his teacher, Mrs Jeffries, to audition for the role of Ponyboy in a production of The Outsiders. The experience became a defining moment for James, sparking a lasting passion for storytelling and performance.
While James initially devoted much of his time to Australian Rules football, his interest in acting continued to grow. During his final year of school, he performed as Grandpa in a production of The Witches, further developing his confidence and connection with the stage.
Since pursuing acting professionally, James has built experience across television, independent film and commercial work. His screen credits include the Stan Original Series Invisible Boys, as well as a role in The Twelve. He has also appeared in independent projects including Proclivitas, alongside commercial and advertising work.
James brings a strong physicality, authenticity and work ethic to his performances. His background in competitive sport and formwork carpentry has helped develop his discipline, resilience and ability to work effectively in demanding environments.
As an emerging Australian actor, James continues to expand his range through auditions, self-tapes, screen work and professional development. He is particularly drawn to grounded, complex characters and stories that allow him to explore different sides of human experience.
With a growing body of screen experience and a determination to establish a lasting career in the industry, James continues to pursue opportunities across Australian film and television, with ambitions to eventually work on an international level.
