Mia Mackintosh (she/her) grew up on Gunaikurnai land in country Victoria and spent most
of her life on Gragin (Raymond Island). She is a dancer, singer and actor, and first
discovered her love for performing as a child through dance concerts and eisteddfods.
Mia went on to study the Bachelor of Performing Arts at Federation University’s Arts
Academy in Ballarat. Those three years involved performing in an original Australian
musical, The White Rose with Director Janice Muller and Musical Director Claire Healy.
The Lower Depths directed by Bagryana Popov and A Seat At The Periodic Table, a student
devised work where she was both a director and choreographer. In her final year, she
played Orlando in Virginia Woolf’s Orlando adapted for the stage by Neil Bartlett. Most
recently, she was Associate Director for Girlhood In The Bathroom, a new Australian
musical at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Mia has a passion for queer and feminist works.
