Helena Murphy-Reid is a versatile New Zealand actor with a wide-ranging career across screen, stage, and music videos. She recently appeared in My Life Is Murder (Acorn TV), playing ballet dancer Isabel Frey and had a recurring role as Nora Crosby on Shortland Street. Helena also stars as Buffy in the zombie short film Gun Powder (2024) and has led roles in In Deep, Stonewashed and A Horrible Life. Her theatre experience includes portraying Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire as well as roles in Metamorphosis and Pick Your Poison. She has also contributed to productions with the Stray Theatre Company at the University of Auckland. Helena’s film work includes being a finalist in the 48Hours Film Festival in both 2021 and 2024. Helena has featured in several music videos, including BENEE’s Tough Guy, Iris G’s Super Nova, and Daily J’s Cheap Tequila Sunrise, showcasing her ability to bring personality and energy to both the screen and the music world. A trained ballet dancer and surfer with a Fine Arts degree, Helena has studied the Meisner Technique and worked with renowned coaches such as Miranda Harcourt, Jacque Drew and Anthony Meindl. With her diverse training and experience, she brings emotional depth, strong physicality, and a youthful presence to all her roles.
