June holmes here, 29th May 2023- I have been in the industry since 1994 I raised 2 kids, as a single mum started a Business as a way of staying in the industry that I love. I studied Business in preparation, for my business and formed The Clown Company I have created a lot of joy over the years with my Business, I ran and trained and sent performers Sydney wide to Corporate Events and Childrens Parties, doing balloons twisitng, face painting and Magic Shows. The Business gave a me a performance skill that I couldn't learn any other way. The skill of Improvisation, which I can take into any performance Other Training I have had is Fine Arts and used it in Sign writing in the 80s I studied in total 8 years, in Visual Arts One day I looked at a painting I did at The Royal Easter show and said I want to jump in fron of the painting so people can look at me. My first awareness that I wanted to be an Actor more than a painter. I must admit I wasn't really ready to be an Actor back in the 90s and early 2000 s I spent 10 years of being a really good back ground extra I was a full time cop on Wildside ABC and on Water Rats, A Permanent Cop on Australias Most Wanted roaming around with a folder or sitting at a computer, on Home and Away permanent feature sitting on the rolled carpet before they had a green room. I was even in the original Matrix, the list goes on and on far too many to list as you can imagine. My life experience has taught me I have much more to give, and Acting now is all I am wanting to fill my days with. I created my short film/ show reel with Gemme De la femme productions this is based on my real life story. I have experienced living with an Alcoholic, the father of my children, been through the torments and the sadness, and financial insecurity , and mental and physical abuse that comes with that. I have been homeless, lived in a hotel for 6 weeks then moved to a Womens Hostel with a 4 year old son and a nine year old daughter, we were there a year Needless to say, I have a treasure chest of emotional gems for my upcoming work! I wrote 'Magic' a short scene about my life and my daughter, I filmed it a day before she gave birth to her daughter my Granddaughter, about the trials of mother hood on an emotional level. Recently I have been asked to portray Nanas who have a great compassion for their Children and grand children Women who care too much I can certainly relate to that. Thanks so much June :)
