Notes

Gabriel Cali was born on October 19th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is based in Melbourne, Australia. He is similar in type to actors George Mackay, Heath Ledger, Leo Woodall and Jacob Elordi. His strengths lie in his ability to bring emotional depth, sensitivity, and strong physicality to his work. Gabriel has extensive experience in both screen and theatre and holds a BFA in Acting from the VCA. His film credits include lead roles in Heart Throb (GGG Films), for which he won Best Actor at Setting Sun International Film Festival, After Party (Justine Pitcher), Two Bodies (MIFF Play), January and Sessions. Gabriel's own short film Quiet (St Kilda Film Festival) has garnered over 1.2 million views on YouTube. Gabriel played Oswald in Theatre Works' 2024 production of Ghosts by Jodi Gallagher after Henrik Ibsen (directed by Steven Mitchell-Wright), and his theatre credits include lead roles in Stuck (directed by Margot Fenley, Midsumma Festival), Arts Centre Melbourne's Lord of the Flies, Prague Shakespeare Company's Henry VI, Frenzy Theatre Co.'s MOTHERLOD_^E and The Spook by Melissa Reeves (directed by Daniela Farinacci). A recent review described Gabriel's performance in Ghosts: "Gabriel Cali captivates the audience with his swagger and stage presence. His expressive face and voice draw us into his portrayal of Oswald Alving, making him an actor to watch." Gabriel has trained under esteemed teachers Budi Miller, Damien Walshe-Howling, Danielle Carter, Leith McPherson, Guy Roberts, Georgina Naidu, Chris Nolan, Greg Apps and David Coury, among others.
