Fay Du Chateau is a British and West African–heritage actor based in Sydney, where she has lived for more than 20 years.
Her work is shaped by a culturally layered upbringing, imagination, and lived experience. Raised without television, she was immersed in BBC Radio 4—especially The Archers—music, and literature, developing a vivid internal world and strong character visualization skills. When she began watching television at 12, she admired the quality of British programming but noticed the lack of mixed-race representation, an awareness that continues to inform her artistic values.
Before acting, Fay trained and worked as a paediatric nurse in the UK and Australia. Her professional shift came in 2009 when she was accepted into the Screen Acting course at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), cementing her commitment to screen performance.
She began her career in television commercials and as the industry evolved, she secured multiple roles such as Heartbreak High (Netflix), Significant Others (ABC), and Home and Away (Seven Network). Joining the Heartbreak High reboot was especially meaningful, having grown up watching the original series in the UK.
Fay continues to refine her craft and trains with leading acting, voice, and US dialect coaches, including Les Chantery, Lisa Robertson, Katherine Beck, and Donald Woodburn.
Fay has recently appeared in her theatre debut performance in Es & Flo and hopes to continue to build a dynamic screen and stage career. She is represented by Gina Stoj Management in Australia and the USA.
