Bronte Locke (she/her) is an actor, writer and director. She studied theatre at Melbourne's Victorian College of the Arts, where she wrote her first play (the post-apocalyptic dog tragedy "Good Boy”). She was an artist-in-residence at Arena Theatre Company and a cast member of the 2020 Melbourne University Law Revue, "Everything is Fine". Originally from Brisbane, Bronte had the privilege of interning at Queensland Theatre on 2022’s "Bernhardt/Hamlet" (dir. Lee Lewis). She is one half of A Small, Strange Company with Isabelle Carney, whose Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut, "The Clit Notes" was sold out for the entire festival. Bronte participated in Australian Theatre for Young People's National Studio in 2023, with her work "The Turtleneck" selected to be published in "Intersection: Dawn". The piece was performed as part of ATYP's 2024 Intersection Festival at the Rebel Theatre in Sydney. Bronte was one of 20 writers selected from 150 applicants to be mentored by Trent Dalton for the Write Your Heart Out Project, culminating in the publication of her work in the Love Stories Anthology. As an actor, she was part of the main ensemble of the Stan miniseries "Bad Behaviour".
