Sydney based, Teaches at NIDA. Alison Bennett studied acting at the Lecoq International School of Theatre in Paris. She also has a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Drama) from Monash University. Her most recent credits include: Join the Dots (Sydney Opera House co-pro, Japan tour for Sydney Festival), Zelos (Painted Gate Pictures), TROUPE (commissioned by the Bestival Music Festival UK) as well as This is Not Mills and Boon (Glorious Thing Theatre Co), Roadkill Confidential (Lies, Lies & Propaganda) and Macondo's Clothesline (NIDA Independent). She is a regular performer with the Leftovers Collective. Alison is a well-known comedy performer and has recently performed for the Bedlam Cabaret, Viva La Gong Festival, Crack Theatre Festival and an array of cabarets & clown shows. She was an independent producer for PACT Centre for Emerging Artists on the Rapid Response Team Project and is the Program Manager for Adult Short Courses at NIDA. She is Artistic Director of Hurrah Hurrah, a company that creates collaborative theatre and film projects. With Hurrah Hurrah she has directed and produced TRADE (Adelaide Fringe and the Old 505 Theatre), The Seagull (in collaboration with the Rocks Pops Up Project) and Frenzy for Two (as part of a 9-month Residency with Woollahra Council). She also created ‘Rapoonzel’, a roving performance of poetry and clown for kids at the Sydney Opera House. In 2018 she will produce and perform in a new show from Hurrah Hurrah called Roomba Nation at the Old 505 Theatre and in The Pastels at the Butterfly Club in Melbourne.
