Marcus Rivera is a Filipino-Australian actor, singer, and host with 20+ years of professional experience in Australian theatre and screen. Born in Manila, Philippines, and migrated to Australia in 1987. Making his Queensland Theatre Company debut in October 2025 as Ernie in "Malacanang Made Us" by Jordan Shae, directed by Kenneth Moraleda. Sydney Theatre Award nominee (2022) for "Ate Lovia." Best Actor, Made in the West Film Festival (2019) for "Tomgirl." City of Sydney Counter Tenor Award recipient (2012). IBLA Grand Prize recipient - Most Distinguished Musician (2017, Ragusa, Italy). Distinctive counter-tenor vocal range (high baritone-tenor up to high G). Trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the Australian Institute of Music with soprano Arax Mansourian. Recent credits include "Hidden Thorns" (Jin Ju), "The Wild Orchards" (Jin Ju), "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" (Don Kirschner), "City of Angels" (Lt Manny Munoz), and "Miss Saigon" (The Engineer - multiple productions 2007-2019, including Cameron Mackintosh's Australian production). Worked as dialect consultant and dialogue coach on "The Unusual Suspects" (2021, Aquarius Films) and "Here Out West" (2024). Has performed with Opera Australia, Opera Queensland, The Production Company, Melbourne City Opera, Patina Productions, and Plushduck Productions. Credits include "The King and I," "Sweeney Todd," "Anything Goes," "Company," and "NED The Musical." Created and performed one-man cabaret show "Callas Bitch" in Sydney and as headliner at Melbourne Cabaret Festival (2006). Produced and performed with vocal group ENCORE. Recorded solo albums "This is the Moment" and "Heart Strings." Founder of High & Loud Voice Studio, offering vocal training for singers, public speakers, and content creators.
