Notes

Actor, singer and writer Mia Morrissey started acting at sixteen, starring in Venice Film Festival favourite, Bat Eyes. Shortly after, she landed channel 7 musical comedy series In Your Dreams, which shot in Australia and Germany for two seasons (for which she also wrote and composed original music.) Deciding to pursue training, she studied at The Atlantic Acting School in New York in 2015 and was accepted into the prestigious full time acting course at WAAPA in 2016. Since graduating, some of her most notable screen and theatre credits have included Jade Lennox on Home and Away, Mimi in RENT at the Sydney Opera House, Laura Cunningham on Stan and Sundance series Totally Completely Fine and Nadiyah Zammit on worldwide hit, Amazon Original series, Deadloch. She was also cast as the titular role of Amelie in the Australian premier of Broadway hit, Amelie The Musical at Darlinghurst Theatre Company, but the show was unfortunately cancelled due to covid. Mia wrote, composed and starred in, In Loving Memory; An original musical about grief that was produced, funded and programmed by The Hayes Theatre. It opened in 2022 to a sell out season and rave reviews. Mia is an active spokesperson for body positivity and neutrality. She started successful instagram campaign "The Gained Project" during covid and has worked with The Butterfly Foundation to help bring awareness to the severity of Eating Disorders. She is also an Endometriosis Australia Ambassador, using her voice to bring awareness to Endometriosis (and other reproductive conditions) in the hopes of eradicating menstruation shame.
