Notes
Te Kohe Tuhaka (Ngāti Porou, Ngāi Tūhoe) stars alongside Jason Momoa in Hawaiian history epic, CHIEF OF WAR. In 2023 he produced and starred alongside Guy Pearce in action-adventure film THE CONVERT.
Te Kohe's international breakout came after playing lead warrrior 'Wirepa' in Māori-language feature film THE DEAD LANDS (2014). The film's success saw its universe expanded to a television series by AMC Shudder, with Te Kohe again in the lead role of 'Waka-nuku-rau'. Other highlights include feature films KŌKĀ (2025), MONSTER PROBLEMS (2019), and television series' DEAD AHEAD (2025) and VEGAS (2020).
On stage, Te Kohe has toured internationally with award-winning play STRANGE RESTING PLACES, going on to co-produce short film MAUNGA CASSINO, inspired by the play, which won 'Best Short Film' at the Italian film festival Ora!Fest. He most recently received acclaim for his role of "Wiremu/Lopakhin" in Auckland Theatre Company's modern adaption of THE CHERRY ORCHARD.
