Nominated for Best Lead Actor in the 2025 48 Hour Film Festival Nominated for Best Lead Actor in the 2025 QUT Shorties Parul Mehta is a South African Indian actor, singer, dancer, and voice artist based in Meanjin. She was nominated for Best Lead Actor at the 2025 Brisbane 48 Hour Film Festival for the multi-award-winning short Afterparty and performed as a vocalist at QPAC’s 2025 Clancestry Festival. Her screen credits include How to Move (QUT), Statue (NYFA), and voice work in Griffith’s animated short Clustomer Service. On stage, Parul’s recent roles highlight her versatility and commitment to politically charged, women-centred, and BIPOC stories, including Wife of Leonardo in Blood Wedding (dir. Timothy Wynn), Sarah in When They Go Low (dir. Kate Wilde), May in Impending Everyone, and Avani & Nalini in Light, a new musical by award-winning Vidya Makan and Tasnim Hossain, presented in a public reading at Queensland Theatre.
