BIO:
Samantha Proctor studied acting abroad in New York City at The Atlantic Acting School where she completed the Full Time Conservatory. Her training put her in good stead and she dove headfirst onto small New York stages post graduation.
Some of Samantha’s theatre credits include ‘Yelena’ in Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, ‘Ally Moncrieff’ in an adaptation of The Importance of being Earnest called The literary Lioness’ of Lower Manhattan, ‘Billie’ in a new works production called Medicine and ‘Dorn’ in a modern adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull.
Samantha had her first leading role on screen in a heart felt comedy drama series called Nun Habits where she played a weed smoking, gay Catholic Nun who fights against the staunch beliefs of the church. Nun Habits has been accepted into 16 festivals so far including the Pilot Light TV Festival in the UK, NYC WebFest in which Samantha has been nominated for BEST ACTRESS, Ocktober Film Festival, World Web Fest Mania and 2020's Cinequest Film ad Creativity festival. So far Nun Habits has won Best New media/Web Series at qFLIX Worcester, new England’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival, Best Web Series at Ocktober Film Festival and the audience Choice Award at World Webfest Mania.
Since her return to Australian shores Samantha has been cast in an upcoming play entitled Prospect Terrace at the Piip Theatre in Brisbane. She will be playing one of the lead roles Bunny in this Heartfelt family drama in 2024.
