Tyler is an improviser, writer, director and actor., He graduated from the BA at AFTRS in early 2022 and has been taking acting classes around Sydney since 2018. He’s been training in long-form improv since 2017, and now performs fortnightly at Improv Theatre Sydney’s ITS Big House shows with ITS house team Drywall, and previously with several other teams. He has also put on a one-hour improv show across three nights for Sydney Fringe Comedy in 2022 with four-piece indie team Joint Custody. He performed and co-produced three improv shows at Sydney Fringe Festival in 2023 - Joint Custody: Conscious Uncoupling!, Tuxedo Rentals: The Retirement Tour, and BIG GUNS: Improv du Cinéma. Tyler placed runner up in the Improv Comedy Cagefight grand final at Sydney Comedy Festival 2023 with team Friends, No Benefits. His nine-piece team Group Chat (FKA Tuxedo Rentals), performed on the Tumbalong Park stage at SXSW Sydney in 2023 Tyler is currently developing the semi-autobiographical comedy web series ‘Packing’ and recently directed ‘Coach Dayum!’ (2022), a new TikTok series created by Jenny Tian as part of Screen Australia's Every Voice initiative with TikTok. He creates work that aims to disarm audiences with loveable and comedic characters to reveal the ugly truths and private moments that we can recognise in ourselves. Tyler's experience as a director has taught him about the technical elements of screen acting while his improv background allows his performances to retain a sense of freedom and play while still serving the story.
