A writer, director, producer, actor and composer; Brea Macey graduated from Actors Centre Australia in 2023 and has already enjoyed numerous accolades since entering the industry. Her credits include the new Australian feature film, “From All Sides” (written and directed by Bina Bhattacharya), that screened at Cannes International Film Festival 2024; “Noel and Gertie, Down and Dirty”, a touring cabaret (recipient of the Adelaide Fringe Critics Circle Award 2024); and “a thing of hope.”, a self-directed, one-woman play (winning 6 awards in the 2024 Short+Sweet Sydney Festival including Best Actor). Brea also produced her own cabaret at Claire's Kitchen at le Salon in June, and has performed in notable venues such as The Old Fitz (Senseless and Fitz), Two80 Cabaret (La La Lounge) and Ayers House (Adelaide Fringe). Her upcoming shows include “Penpals” (book and score written by Megan Robinson), a new queer musical at Qtopia; and “The House of Bernarda Alba” with Frantic Muse Productions. Brea is a passionate and contributing participant of the local theatre community and has also recently joined Margaret Thanos' “Play Club” at Belvoir St. She has entered the stand-up comedy scene within the last 3 months and has already been asked to perform in numerous events, including “FAGS R US”, a queer comedy show that featured in the Sydney Fringe Festival 2024. Her award-winning Drag King (That’s Entertainment), ‘Justin Bleeder’, can often be found on a Friday night at “Harvey Comedy”; a comedy night she co-produces through the company she co-founded, Harvey Family Co.
