Sandy is an award winning actor and writer from the Dunghutti, Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung clans/nations of NSW. Graduating from the Queensland University of Technology in Theatre Studies (BA Hons., First class), Sandy has trained internationally at the Atlantic Acting School in NYC and The Groundlings Improv School in Los Angeles. Sandy has performed with Australia's leading theatre companies including Sydney Theatre Co, Melbourne Theatre Co, Malthouse Theatre and worked in Film and TV. Sandy has also trained as television producer under the leadership of Fiona Eager from Every Cloud Productions and works as a cultural consultant across stage, film, TV and advertising. In 2019, as part of the Deadly Fringe Program, Sandy wrote and performed her original, critically acclaimed one woman show "Matriarch" at the Melbourne Fringe Festival, winning both the SA and NSW Tour Ready Awards. It was also nominated for Best Writing and won the Best Actor in Independent Theatre at the 2019 Green Room Awards. Sandy recently made her directorial debut with "Ngurra Muruy" - a 26 min documentary film about Gumbaynggirr custodian and allies working together to protect country.
