Sydney-born but Darwin raised of Malaysian Chinese heritage, Tsu Shan is a Mum of 3 with an Optometrist/public Health background, now working as an Actor and award winning Writer/Producer. She chooses to create stories about issues that matter, particularly in relation to women and minority groups. She was recently elected to the Screen Producers Australia (SPA) Council, picked as one of the Producers on IF Magazine's Rising Talent List 2023 and was included in the inaugural AA122 list - recognising Asian Australians who have had the most impact on Australian culture, society and institutions over the past year. Tsu Shan was previously one of SPA’s “Ones to Watch” in 2018. She was also awarded the Charlies Grant Residency with Australians in Film in 2021. Her heart-felt family feature MY EYES where she played the lead role, also starring Adam Garcia (Coyote Ugly) and Kieu Chinh (The Joy Luck Club) is currently being released theatrically across ANZ, the U.S. and later on Prime. Tsu Shan played a series regular in SUKA, a multi-cultural action drama, released on Channel 9 in December 2023. The online action drama that she wrote and produced, THE WILD ORCHARDS, won 2 out of 7 nominations at the 2018 LA Webfest, including nominations for most Outstanding Drama, and her as most Outstanding Actress. Tsu Shan also won ‘Best Ensemble of Cast’ at the 2016 World Film Awards for her short film TRAGIC ENOUGH where she played the lead role. She has also acted in the lead role for TV such as US streamed series DEADLY WOMEN, feature films such as the much anticipated horror Remnant, multi-festival award winning SEQUIN IN A BLUE ROOM; AACTA nominated shorts such as NURSERY RHYMES starring Toby Wallace and Heath Ledger scholarship recipient Charmaine Bingwa’s comedy LITTLE SISTA, a key supporting role in the musical theatre production of SPRING AWAKENING and many presenting roles, including TVSN.
