Mia Morrissey started acting at sixteen, starring in Venice Film festival favourite, Bat Eyes. Shortly after, she landed channel 7 musical/comedy series In Your Dreams (for which she also wrote original music). After shooting two seasons in Australia and Germany, she decided to pursue training at WAAPA. Since graduating in 2018, some of her notable credits have included Home and Away, Rent at Sydney Opera House, Stan series Totally Completely Fine, Amazon Original series Deadloch, Stan series Totally Completely Fine, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None directed by Robyn Nevin and Sundance film festival favourite, Together directed by Michael Shanks and acquired by Neon for a record breaking amount..
She also wrote, composed and starred in original musical, In Loving Memory, produced, funded and programmed by The Hayes Theatre.
Outside of performing and writing, Mia is an active spokesperson for body positivity and body neutrality. She started successful instagram campaign, The Gained Project during covid lockdown and has worked with The Butterfly Foundation to help bring awareness to the dangers of Eating Disorders.
She is also passionate about eradicating the societal shame around menstruation, endometriosis and other reproductive conditions and is an ambassador for Endometriosis Australia.
