Shivantha is a UK-born actor and musician of Sri Lankan descent, currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
His recent screen work includes 'Road to the Sky in 2024' (dir. Jonathan Hensleigh, with Liam Neeson), and 'Furiosa' in 2022 (dir. George Miller). On stage, he has performed with the Melbourne Theatre Company in Shakespeare’s 'As You Like It' in 2022 (dir. Simon Phillips) and was nominated for the state’s highest theatre award in Victoria, Australia; A Green Room Award for Most Outstanding Performer. He played the lead role of ‘Jegan' in Oscar Nominee Deepa Mehta’s Funny Boy, Canada’s 2021 Oscar submission.
He trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and has worked across the UK, Sri Lanka, Australia, and the U.S., in projects ranging from Sir Tom Stoppard’s 'Indian Ink' at Roundabout Theatre to narrating the Booker Prize–winning novel 'The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida' - which was nominated for Best Audio Book of the year at the British Book Awards in 2023.
To date, he has worked on over 120 productions and speaks several languages; he is currently learning his fifth.
He released two music albums, writing and playing most instruments; 'Words From Not Long Ago' in 2014, and 'Clarity' in 2017 in New York. 'Clarity' was mastered at G&J Audio (Norah Jones, John Coltrane, Sex Pistols, Aretha Franklin).
His song ‘Fallen Into You’ reached #5 on The Most Requested Songs for the Year in 2005.
