Sydney-born but Darwin raised of Malaysian Chinese heritage, Tsu Shan is a Mum of 3 with an Optometrist/public Health background, now working as an Actor and award winning Writer/Producer. She chooses to create stories about issues that matter, particularly in relation to women and minority groups. A respected creative force in the Australian screen industry, she was named on IF Magazine’s Rising Talent List 2023, and recognised on the inaugural AA122 List, celebrating Asian Australians making a profound impact on culture, society and institutions. She was previously one of SPA’s Ones to Watch (2018) and received the prestigious Charlies Grant Residency with Australians in Film (2021). Tsu Shan played the lead role in a heartfelt family drama opposite Adam Garcia (Coyote Ugly) and Kieu Chinh (The Joy Luck Club). It recently obtained distribution in multiple international territories, and Tsu Shan received Best Leading Actress nominations at the Septimius Awards and the Asian Talent International Film Festival where she was awarded Best Actress. Tsu Shan also starred as a series regular in SUKA, a multicultural action drama premiering on Channel 9. Her online action drama THE WILD ORCHARDS, which she wrote, produced and starred in, won two awards at the 2018 LA Webfest, including nominations for Outstanding Drama and Outstanding Actress. She also won Best Ensemble of Cast at the 2016 World Film Awards for TRAGIC ENOUGH, where she played the lead role. Her additional acting credits span TV, film and theatre, including lead roles in US-streamed series Deadly Women, multiple festival winner horror Remnant, Sequin in a Blue Room and Charmaine Bingwa’s comedy Little Sista, a key supporting role in the musical theatre production Spring Awakening, and numerous presenting roles including TVSN.
